River Underground offers a range of services, including live band tracking, overdubs, rehearsal and pre-production, vocal compositing, vocal tuning, drum alignment, multi-track editing and summing. The studio is equipped with a diverse selection of microphones and mic preamps, each offering unique character and tonal colour. Additionally, a carefully curated collection of outboard compression, EQ, and effects is always patched in ready to go.
recording and production
$120 per hour including producer/engineer or $700 per day dry hire
From vocal overdubs to full, live band tracking, the studio is an inspiring creative space equipped with a world-class collection of analog gear to bring your vision to life. Sessions can be booked with producer/engineer Johnny Grant, who is available to guide and support your musical and artistic needs. Alternatively, the studio is also available for dry hire, allowing producers and mixers to book the space for their own projects.

From precise vocal tuning and editing to running your tracks through top-tier analog hardware, we ensure your music reaches its fullest potential. The studio is equipped with high-end mastering converters and a Dangerous analog summing console, seamlessly integrating with our premium analog gear. A vast collection of industry-leading software, combined with tactile, automated mixing components, provides both flexibility and precision in shaping your sound. HEDD monitors and advanced room correction software guarantee that your recordings will sound just as immersive and lush beyond the studio as they do within.

rehearsal and pre-production
$70 per hour (4 hour minimum)
Rehearse in an inspiring, acoustically stunning space with full access to some of the finest instruments ever made. Ideal for video shoots and pre-production sessions, the studio offers a breathtaking setting to refine your craft. You can even capture your rehearsal sessions with a 12-channel mixer/audio interface, ensuring every moment is recorded with clarity and depth. If there's anything specific you need that isn't in-house, we can arrange rentals to ensure it's available for your session.
